The power of bandNada's posting grows and grows. With great power comes great responsibility
A question that I get asked almost never is, "why is it called bandNada?" Does it matter that bandNada was conceived as language lessons for American bands hoping to tour Spanish speaking countries? A little bit, maybe. But the important thing now is that bandNada is doing less auto-syncing from sources like YouTube playlists, and instead asking that artists manually post their videos. We are doing this to decrease noise on the platform, and make sure that only the best content goes out to fans. bandNada’s mission is to grow the local music community, and help build a larger fan base for local artists. As bandNada grows; less noise, and higher quality content helps give the best impression of local artists to new bN users.
Here’s a little how-to on how to best post your content to bandNada.
Posting a new Video
You have three options for posting a video:
- Post a YouTube or Vimeo link
- Post a Dropbox link
- Upload the video directly
If you are posting a legitimately produced video that you want to get as much exposure as possible with, it's probably best to go with option 1 so that it's available on those platforms as well. If you would like it to be a bandNada exclusive (which is very cool imo), then posting it from Dropbox is a great way to do that. Either way, all you need to do is:
- "Create a Post"
- Write a short little blurb
- Paste the link after the blurb
bandNada will detect the video, and automatically embed it in your post so that it’s easy to watch for users.
If you are posting a video clip or multiple clips and/or have photos with it too, then you should upload them directly. All you need to do is:
- "Create a Post"
- Write a short blurb
- Click the "Add Images/Videos" button.
You can very easily upload more than one video and pictures together. bandNada will make them all easy to view and watch in a little online carousel. Awww, so sweet.
And to really make it all pop - check the section about Related Posts below.
Posting Images
This is the same as posting video clips. All you need to do is “Create a Post”, write a short blurb and then click the “Add Images/Videos” button. You can very easily upload more than one video and pictures together. bandNada will make them all easy to view and watch in a little online carousel.
Posting a Link
If you want to post a link to a writeup you got in a blog, or any other link that you think is relevant to bandNada, it’s the same process:
- "Create a Post"
- Write a short blurb
- Past the link after the blurb
bandNada will fetch a preview of the article, and if possible, it will grab an image from the post as well and use that as the main image for the post.
Before you hit the post button, this would be a great time to add a Related Post (see below).
Related Posts are convenient little tags for bandNada content. If you’re posting a link to an album review, wouldn’t it be great if there was a link to your album there as well? Or even better, if the review showed up on your album post page? All you need to do is add the album post as a related post and all that will happen for you. Just type in the title in the Related Post field, and select the album post. That’s it, donezo.
Related Posts are also a great way to just rep an album that you like from a friend, or to re-post a show that your band is playing but isn’t on your personal page.
Tagging People
You can also tag people in any of your posts. You can tag someone or something with @username kind of thing. Tagging someone will notify that person of your post, but it doesn’t add any additional reach for your post.
I think that’s most of it. Any questions?

p.s.
You can also post a link to a picture online somewhere, and as long as it’s a public image bN will do the right thing.
